Our jewelry is meant for everyday wear, but is not indestructible! Silver will slowly tarnish over time, but this can be buffed out with the polishing cloth supplied in every order. Gold will tarnish less and it is a non-reactive material. The higher karat of gold, the less tarnishing will occur. Tarnishing is accelerated by chlorine and high alcohol consumption! Make sure you rinse your piece after swimming and always make sure you dry it well.

Stones vary in hardness, and its especially important to be gentler with the soft ones. Sapphires, rubies and diamonds are all considered to be very hard, making them great for everyday wear. Peridots, opals, emeralds, etc. are softer and should be treated gently, making them a better choice for special occasions.
